Free Spirit Zine

From Gwenllian Deiniol's love for travel and wander, she wanted to give a brief insight in her experiences and inspire others to explore their own adventures. 'Free Spirit' is focused on four locations; Croatia, Indonesia, New York & Wales. Somewhere for everyone, with suggested activities and places to go. Alongside are fashion illustrations relating to each place, creating a visual atmosphere to capture the interest of the reader. Understanding that travel is a moment, for however long you are able to enjoy, isn't a constant experience. Therefore, the artist suggests simple tips to bring peace and paradise into your home. The key message from this project, is to understand that life experiences and exploring the world around us, holds greater value than any materialistic item. Through travel, you gain a greater understanding of yourself and others. Giving you memories to enjoy and unique stories to tell for a lifetime. This travel & lifestyle zine was created through a range of mix media, including; watercolour paint, ink, fine-liners, markers & pencils. As well as photography taken from the artist's personal experiences in each featured location. Finalising the project with Adobe Photoshop & InDesign. Area's of practice include; art direction, editorial design, graphic & illustrative design, handwritten typography, pattern design, line work, fashion illustration, portraiture, photography.
